Asian Grills & Modern Indian
Nestled in the heart of Cape Town, the former 25 year home of Bukhara Cape Town, Awara is chic and modern, yet still a timeless space where you could get lost in conversation over signature cocktails in our relaxing lounge – softly brightened by natural light by day and mysterious mood lights by night. The fusion flow of interior and exterior create the feel of openness whilst yet being completely private, whether you chilling in the lounge, dining at your table or enjoying the high seating tables outside . We serve a variety of Tapas to have as a starter, or make a complete meal. Order communal dining style – hence getting a little taste of everything.

It was a takeaway and of great taste. On another day we decided to dine and had Pudina Paratha, Dal Makhni and mixed vegetable bhaji. Awesome taste. Do try this Indian restaurant if you are in Capetown. Vegetarian options: They have lots of vegetarian options. read less

The restaurant was previously named Bukhara and is now called Awara. The interior is very upscale and speaks of fine dining. The service is very good and the menu was more meat heavy. However there were good options for vegetarians as well. A big shoutout out to Chef Ramesh, who personally came out and explained the vegetarian options to my parents. Every single dish and cocktail we ordered was excellent! We ordered the crispy okra, jeera aloo, shahi paneer, chicken lababdar, pudina roti and roomali roti. The food was probably the best I have eaten outside India and i would rate it very highly especially because of the Chef’s attention to my parents dietary preferences. He even sent us complimentary dessert (carrot halwa and mango ice cream) which was absolutely divine! We ordered some new items tandoori lamb, garlic naan and dal makhani later in the week through Uber eats (the pictures are from the delivery)and the packaging and taste was excellent! I would recommend this to any Indian food lover. Vegetarian options: Fewer options but chef is very accommodating of requests read less
